Welcome to my webpage!
Hello! My name is Katherine Chen. My friends know me affectionately as "KitChen". I was born in Ann Arbor, MI but spent most of my formative years in the suburbs of Washington D.C. living in a single family home in a cul de sac with my goldfish and 52K internet connection. I went to Thomas S. Wootton and Quince Orchard High schools where I learned how to say no to drugs and other valuable lessons. In case you were wondering what Chinese school I went to, it was Hua Fu, but I also spent a lot of time at Guang Chi too.
And now?
Currently, I'm a masters student at the Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute in Pittsburgh, PA. My research with Prof. Carlos Guestrin is on wireless networks, attempting to develop tools that improve Quality of Service (QoS). Before moving to the Steel City, I spent four years in the Bay Area, northern California that is, at Stanford University studying electrical engineering. During my senior year, I got a taste of co-op living at Synergy, Home Sweet Home.
